Directions

A calm, underrated Burnaby park built around a small lake, with an easy 5.8 km loop of gravel and boardwalk past marshes, meadows, and herons, turtles, and the occasional beaver. The standout is paddling: rent a canoe, kayak, or rowboat from the long-running dock (from around $22/hour) and circle the whole lake in about 30 minutes. Caveat: it's a low-key, flat park rather than a dramatic one, and swimming isn't really the draw, so come for the mellow paddle and birdlife, not big scenery.
