Founded in 1864, Quan Ju De is the historic institution that put Beijing roast duck on the map, using the traditional hanging oven method. The Qianmen flagship is the most atmospheric branch, set in a grand multi-story building near the old city center. The duck here is richer and more traditional than Da Dong's — order a whole duck carved tableside and pair it with mung bean porridge to finish. It's touristy but the duck quality remains genuinely high and the heritage experience is real.
