Mount Pleasant is East Van's craft-beer and creative heart — the historic Brewery Creek area packs a dozen-plus breweries into a walkable strip, alongside vintage shops, murals, and great casual food. This is my top pick for a brewery crawl. One caveat: the Broadway subway station here won't open until around 2027, and construction still lingers.

Is the Broadway subway construction a problem here?

It's improved a lot — as of mid-2026 East Broadway reopened to four lanes near Main and the sidewalks are back — but the station building itself is still going up and won't open until roughly 2027. Expect some ongoing construction around Broadway and Main. The Main Street strip and breweries are all still fully open.

How do I get to Mount Pleasant by transit?

For now it's buses — the #3 Main Street runs through it and the 99 B-Line covers Broadway at the north edge. The new Mount Pleasant SkyTrain station at Broadway and Main is under construction and now expected to open around 2027, not yet. Until then, buses or a short rideshare from downtown are the move.
