Is Queen West worth visiting?

If you like walkable neighbourhoods, indie shopping, street art, and good food, definitely. It's one of the most rewarding areas to just wander in Toronto. If you only want big-ticket attractions, it's less essential, but it's an easy add-on downtown.

Is Queen West good for nightlife?

The western end and nearby Ossington Avenue have plenty of bars, music venues, and restaurants that get lively after dark. It's more of a cocktail-and-dinner scene than a club district. Combine a West Queen West dinner with drinks on Ossington for a solid night.

Where is Graffiti Alley?

It's the laneway just south of Queen Street West, running roughly from Spadina to Portland (officially Rush Lane). It's packed with murals and is free to walk through anytime. Great for photos and a nice break from the main street.

Yes, it's arguably the city's best strip for independent fashion, books, design, and vintage. Type Books, Drake General Store, and dozens of smaller boutiques sell things you won't find in malls. The far-east end has gotten chainier, so drift west for the indies.

Is MOCA still on Queen West?

No, this trips people up. The Museum of Contemporary Art moved to Sterling Road in the Junction Triangle years ago, so you won't find it on Queen West anymore. The strip still has plenty of smaller independent galleries, especially heading west into Parkdale.

What's the difference between Queen West and West Queen West?

West Queen West is the stretch further west, roughly past Bathurst toward Gladstone and Parkdale. It leans artsier, more design-forward, and has more inventive, chef-driven restaurants, anchored by spots like the Drake and Gladstone hotels. The eastern end is more mainstream retail.
