A beloved Toronto institution since 1969, this sprawling hands-on science museum is genuinely engaging for adults as well as kids, with exhibits on space, technology, ecology, and the human body. The IMAX Dome theatre is one of the best in the country and worth booking separately. The building itself, designed by Raymond Moriyama and cascading down a ravine, is architecturally remarkable. Caveat: it can get very loud and crowded on weekends and school holidays, and some exhibits show their age.
