A 220-acre park in northwest Seattle where a salmon-bearing creek meets Puget Sound beach, with forested ravine trails and sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and passing trains. The beach is one of the best in the city for kids and the salmon run in Piper's Creek each fall is a genuine urban wildlife spectacle. A pedestrian bridge crosses the active railroad tracks to reach the beach. The park is far from downtown and requires a car or long bus ride for most visitors.
