One of Macau's most architecturally impressive temples, Lin Fung (Temple of the Lotus) dates to 1592 and features extraordinary bas-relief clay friezes depicting scenes from Chinese mythology along its exterior walls. The attached small museum contextualises the temple's role in Sino-Portuguese diplomatic history, including Lin Zexu's famous 1839 visit. It sits off the main tourist trail, so crowds are minimal and the atmosphere is authentically devotional.
