Walking the Cotai Strip between the mega-resorts is a spectacle in itself — the architecture ranges from the Art Deco fantasy of Studio City (complete with a Batman-themed dark ride inside) to the sheer scale of City of Dreams. Many of the public areas, light shows, and lobbies are free to enter and genuinely impressive as feats of themed design. A discerning local recommends it as a deliberately ironic sightseeing experience rather than for gambling. Caveat: the pedestrian environment between properties is poor and the heat can be brutal in summer.
