Housed in the 16th-century Ibrahim Pasha Palace facing the Hippodrome, this museum holds one of the world's finest collections of Islamic art — carpets, manuscripts, metalwork, ceramics, and woodwork spanning 1,400 years. The carpet collection alone, including the oldest surviving Anatolian carpets, is extraordinary. It's far less crowded than Hagia Sophia despite being steps away, making it a genuine local recommendation. The ethnographic section on Anatolian nomadic life is a thoughtful bonus.
