Known foriconiclandmarkman-made-islandluxury
Palm Jumeirah is Dubai's famous palm-shaped artificial island, lined with luxury resorts, beach clubs, and the Atlantis hotel at its crown. Ride the monorail for aerial-style views, lounge at a beach club, or visit the observation deck The View at the Palm. It is spread out and car-dependent, and the best spots are pricey, so pick one anchor rather than trying to see it all.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I get to Palm Jumeirah?
- By car or taxi is easiest. By transit, take the Red Line to Nakheel or Sobha Realty, then a tram or taxi. The monorail that normally runs the trunk is currently out of service.
- When's the best time to go?
- Sunset for The View and the boardwalk photos; October-April for comfortable beach weather. Summer is hot, but the beach clubs and waterpark stay busy.
- Is there a free public beach?
- Yes, Palm West Beach has free access with paid loungers and plenty of cafés, and the east-crescent boardwalk has great Atlantis views. Bring a cover-up for leaving the sand.
- Is the Palm Monorail running?
- No — the monorail has been suspended since 5 December 2025 for station maintenance, with no confirmed reopening as of July 2026. Use taxis or ride-hailing to get around the Palm in the meantime.
- Is The View at The Palm worth it?
- It's a good-value alternative to Burj Khalifa (around AED 100) with a 360-degree view from Level 52 looking down the Palm's fronds. Best at sunset — book a timed slot in advance.
- What is there to do on Palm Jumeirah?
- The View at The Palm observation deck, Atlantis (Aquaventure waterpark, Lost Chambers aquarium), Palm West Beach dining, the boardwalk, Al Ittihad Park and beach clubs. It's a full half-day at least.
- How long should I spend?
- Half a day minimum to combine a viewpoint, a beach or waterpark and a meal. A full day if you're doing Aquaventure properly.
- Can I visit Atlantis without staying there?
- Yes — Aquaventure waterpark, The Lost Chambers aquarium and the restaurants are open to day visitors with separate tickets. You don't need to be a hotel guest.
