Cain & Abel's is the quintessential UT-area bar — a sprawling, multi-level rooftop spot that has been a West Campus institution for decades, beloved by students and alumni alike. The rooftop deck with views toward campus is the main draw, and the drink prices are refreshingly cheap. It's loud, crowded, and unapologetically a college bar, but it's a genuine Austin rite of passage. Avoid game days unless you enjoy wall-to-wall crowds.
