Vienna's first public municipal park, opened in 1862, straddling the Wien River with elegant bridges and a series of monuments to great Austrian composers and artists including the gilded Johann Strauss II statue — the most photographed monument in Vienna. The Kursalon concert hall on its edge hosts regular Strauss and Mozart concerts. It sits right on the Ringstraße and is very central, making it a natural stop but also a busy tourist thoroughfare.
