101 is a welcoming underground bar in Rome with a grungy, hole-in-the-wall vibe where the owner actively tends bar and prioritizes safety and inclusivity. The drinks are well-made and reasonably priced, the music is excellent, and it's genuinely friendly to foreigners and solo visitors looking to meet people. Note that it gets genuinely packed on weekends, so arrive early or expect a crowd.
