Prague Christmas Markets (Staroměstské náměstí)

The Old Town Square Christmas market is one of Central Europe's most visually spectacular seasonal markets, running from late November through early January around the iconic astronomical clock. Stalls sell svařák (mulled wine), trdelník, roasted meats, handmade ornaments, and Czech crafts against a backdrop of Gothic architecture and a giant decorated tree. It is extremely crowded and prices are tourist-level, but the atmosphere is genuinely magical and worth experiencing at least once. Go on a weekday evening for a slightly calmer experience.
