A branch of the Met dedicated entirely to medieval European art and architecture, built from actual reassembled monastery cloisters transported from France and Spain. The Unicorn Tapestries alone justify the trip, and the hilltop setting in Fort Tryon Park with Hudson River views is genuinely magical. It's one of New York's most undervisited treasures — the uptown location keeps crowds thin even on weekends.
