Directions

A four-mile linear park hugging the Hudson River from 72nd to 158th Street, designed by Olmsted and offering some of the best sunset views in the city. Walk or bike the esplanade, visit the 79th Street Boat Basin, or find a quiet bench overlooking the river — it feels far less touristy than Central Park despite being equally beautiful. The park narrows and gets less maintained north of 125th Street, so the stretch between 72nd and 110th is the sweet spot.
