Expect more traffic than its historical norm — locals waited six years and the reopening made regional news. Mornings right at 9:00, and any time October-March, will feel calm; summer middays will be busy and hot on the exposed cliff.

How do I get up there?

Bus 2 runs straight to the Jardin Exotique district; on foot it's a steep 20-25 minutes from Place d'Armes, softened by Monaco's free public lift network. Combine it with Villa Paloma, two minutes along the same boulevard.

What are the hours?

From reopening, 9:00-18:00, with hours typically extending into the evening in high summer — check the official Monaco sites for the current month before you go. Last cave tours run earlier than garden closing.

Is it suitable for people with mobility issues?

Honestly limited — the garden is built into a cliff with stepped, sloping paths and bridges, and the cave is out of the question. The new reception area improves things, but this is inherently vertical terrain; contact them about which sections are manageable.

Is the Observatory Cave worth doing?

Yes, if stairs don't bother you — it's a decorated limestone cave with prehistoric significance, visited by guided tour, and it's included in your ticket. The descent and climb back involve a few hundred steps.
