Flamingo Gardens is a non-profit wildlife rescue and rehabilitation facility — not a traditional zoo — where you can walk among exotic birds, hand-feed flamingos, ibis, and muscovy ducks at the pond, and tour the impressive botanical collection (don't miss the rainbow eucalyptus). Tram rides run every 30 minutes for a shaded break, aviary shows happen three times daily, and food bags for flamingos, birds, and koi are just $1 each at the ticket counter. Plan 2–2.5 hours for the full experience. Caveat: the snack shop has been reported closed on some visits, so bring your own food; weekends draw large family crowds with young children.
