Mercado de la Cebada

A large, beloved neighborhood market in La Latina housed in a distinctive 1960s structure, with an excellent selection of fresh fish, meat, and produce at honest prices. It's a true community anchor for one of Madrid's most characterful barrios and remains almost entirely tourist-free. The building itself is architecturally interesting and there are ongoing community debates about its future redevelopment — visit while it remains in its current form.
