Chapel Market

One of London's last surviving traditional street markets, operating Tuesday to Sunday on a pedestrianised street in Islington selling fresh fruit and veg, fish, household goods, and cheap clothing. It's refreshingly unglamorous and genuinely used by locals rather than tourists, with prices that reflect a working-class market tradition. The surrounding cafés are old-school greasy spoon territory — excellent in their own right. Don't expect artisan sourdough; this is real everyday London.
