Portugal's most important fine art museum, housing the country's greatest collection of Portuguese paintings, decorative arts, and Asian treasures from the Age of Discovery. The centrepiece is Hieronymus Bosch's 'The Temptation of Saint Anthony' triptych, a genuinely world-class work. The museum garden café overlooking the Tagus is a lovely spot for a break. Criminally undervisited by tourists, making it a genuine local recommendation.
