Known forday tripcoastaltraditionalbeautiful building
The beautifully restored covered market in Cascais town center is one of the finest traditional markets in the greater Lisbon area, well worth the 40-minute train ride. The building itself is architecturally lovely, and inside you'll find exceptional fresh fish straight off local boats, excellent regional cheeses, smoked meats, and a handful of quality lunch spots. Weekend mornings are the best time to visit when the market is at its liveliest and the produce selection is at its peak. It draws a mix of locals and day-trippers but never feels overwhelmed.
