Springs Preserve is a sprawling desert botanical garden and nature center with indoor museums, outdoor trails, and exhibits on Nevada's ecosystems and history. Visit for the butterfly pavilion (beautifully designed but small and can have long waits), the flash flood and Hoover Dam exhibits, botanical gardens with labeled plants, playgrounds, and a train ride through a recreated small town. The main caveat: the butterfly experience itself is quite compact despite the wait, so manage expectations if that's your primary draw.
