Waimea Bay is one of the most iconic beaches on earth, famous for its massive winter swells that draw the world's best big-wave surfers and enormous crowds of spectators. In summer it transforms into a calm, emerald-green bay perfect for swimming and cliff jumping from the famous rock on the north side. The setting — framed by lush green hills and the historic Waimea Valley — is breathtaking in any season. Parking is extremely limited; arrive very early or use the shuttle from Turtle Bay on busy days.
