Reopened after a major renovation in 2019, this is Hong Kong's flagship fine art museum with a superb permanent collection of Chinese antiquities, calligraphy, and contemporary Hong Kong art. The Xubaizhai collection of Chinese painting and calligraphy alone is worth the visit. Admission is very affordable and the waterfront location is hard to beat. Temporary exhibitions can be hit or miss, so check what's on before visiting.
