One of Mexico's finest Maya archaeology museums, housed in a striking modern building near the San Miguelito ruins. The permanent collection displays over 400 pre-Columbian artifacts including jade masks, ceramics, and stone carvings with excellent bilingual context. You can walk the adjacent San Miguelito archaeological site included in the ticket. Caveat: the air-conditioned interior is a relief from the heat, but the outdoor ruins section is exposed and best visited early morning.
