A mile-and-a-half linear park built over the Big Dig tunnel that stitched together neighborhoods severed by the old elevated highway, running from Chinatown through Downtown to the North End. Rotating public art installations, a carousel, seasonal food trucks, and a beer garden make it a genuine civic gathering space rather than just a green corridor. The Rings Fountain is a favorite with kids in summer. It is best experienced on a weekday when office workers thin out and the art is easier to appreciate.
