Harvard Museum of Natural History

Harvard's natural history museum houses the legendary Glass Flowers — 4,300 botanically accurate glass models made by Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka between 1887 and 1936 — alongside impressive dinosaur skeletons, gemstone collections, and taxidermy. The Glass Flowers alone justify the trip; they remain scientifically and artistically inexplicable. Massachusetts residents get free admission on Sundays from September through May. The building is old and not fully climate-controlled, which adds to its charm.
