Schlachtensee

A pristine glacial lake ringed by a flat, shaded path that makes for one of Berlin's best easy walks or runs — roughly 4 km around the water. In summer the grassy banks fill with Berliners swimming, sunbathing, and reading; in winter the misty forest atmosphere is quietly beautiful. The water quality is consistently excellent and there are no entry fees for the main lake access. It gets very busy on hot weekends, so arrive early or visit on a weekday morning for the best experience.
