Mies van der Rohe's iconic glass-and-steel pavilion — one of the 20th century's most celebrated buildings — reopened after a major renovation in 2021 and is now better than ever. The permanent collection of 20th-century classical modernism (Picasso, Klee, Kirchner, Beckmann) is outstanding, and the building's transparent lower level hosts major temporary exhibitions. The architecture alone justifies a visit even if the current show doesn't appeal. A true Berlin landmark that locals are fiercely proud of.
