One of the world's great botanical gardens, covering 43 hectares with over 22,000 plant species and a series of spectacular Victorian glasshouses including a towering tropical house. The garden is a genuine scientific institution attached to the Freie Universität and is beautiful in every season — cherry blossoms in spring, dahlias in late summer, and the warm glasshouses in winter. Entry costs around €7 and is absolutely worth it. Avoid the gift shop and head straight to the Great Tropical House for the most dramatic experience.
