Poe is buried here beneath a monument at the corner of Fayette and Greene, in an atmospheric 1786 graveyard with a Gothic church built on stone piers over the older tombs, creating actual catacombs below. The grounds are free to walk daily 9-5; first-Saturday guided tours ($5) get you into the catacombs and the hall. Caveat: it sits on the UMB campus surrounded by hospital blocks, so it's a quick, sober stop rather than a half-day, and the catacombs are only accessible on scheduled tours.
